Just wanted to tell you thanks for saving me the other day with the key/file recovery, I really really appreciate it. I know it was beyond what you should have had to do, and wanted to let you know that I realize it and am grateful. Your help is appreciated more than you know. I don't know how best to say thanks, but in my eyes it raised RBS up a level or three above the rest. S.S. Mesa, AZ

CLIENT CAN'T SEE MAPPED DRIVES WHILE RUNNING AS A SERVICE
http://rbsdrive.com/rbstech/TS100302.HTM
Article Number: 100302
Software: CLIENT Version ALL
Problem: When the client is intalled and running as a windows service, I cannot
access the mapped drives from the client. (rbClient does not see mapped drives)
Solution/WorkAround:
If you are running the client in service mode, check the permissions on the mapped drive
and make sure that the local SYSTEM account has full rights to it. If it doesn't, then the
client will not see this drive since it runs as the SYSTEM account when installed as a
service.
To check that it's installed as a service, you can either right click the Remote Backup
system tray icon and see that it says "Uninstall Service Mode." You can also verify this
in Task Manager's process tab and see that it's running as the user SYSTEM.
If the client can be run in Application mode, then that will solve the problem easily. In
Application mode, the client will see any mapped drives.
Note: Versions of RBackup produced prior to November 2006 do not support UNC Paths.
