Apache Web Server

The two most popular Web Servers are Microsoft's Internet Information Server (IIS) which comes as part of Windows 2000, and the Apache Web Server, which is included on this CD.

The Apache Web Server on this CD is pre-configured to run with your RBS Server's default folder structure without modification. If you install any other Web Server you must configure it for your computer and set its Document Root Folder to: C:\Program Files\RBS Server\Web

You will need the following information during the Apache Web Server installation:

·      Your Server Locator Host Name OR your static IP address, OR a host name for your RBS Server provided by another company. This will be referred to as both "Network Domain" and "Server Name" during the Apache installation. This will be the URL (Web Address) of your RBS Server. You will be able to view your web site by pointing a browser to your Server Locator Host Name, static IP address, or other assigned Host Name. Just type http:// at the beginning of your host name as you would with any website address, as in the following example.

http://780408ABC.ddns.rbsnet.net

·      Your email address or that of the person responsible for technical administration of your RBS Server. This will be referred to as "Administrator's Email Address"

·      We recommend you select the option "Run as a service for All Users"

·      Select the default installation location, C:\Program Files\Apache Group\
