MAKING A FIRST BACKUP ON-SITE TO CD

Q: If I make a first time backup using the RBS client software to burn a CD at the customer’s site, then I install it on the RBS Server to the subscriber’s directory, will they have access to it? or How do you go about this?

A: If you make a first time LOCAL backup to a cd or portable hard drive, then return to the server and copy it into the correct subfolder for that user, he will be able to access it as if he’d backed it up by remote.

If burning a CD, make sure to copy files into the ROOT folder so you don’t have any file name length issues in writing to the cd.
