This case is about a Client that has been working for a long time, then suddenly just stops working.
Check all settings in the RBS Client which effect connecting to the Server. These are all in the Admin screens on the Client. If those settings are all correct, make sure they are correct for this user on the Server.
If that doesn’t fix it, uninstall and reinstall the Client. Save the backup.mdb file and copy it back after re-installation.
If that doesn’t work, investigate what has changed about the customer’s hardware, other software, and Internet connection. It is nearly certain that something changed on the Client’s computer, having nothing to do with the RBS software.
