WARNING: WEB GRADE CONNECTION SETTINGS MISSING

In a VERY small percentage of installations, this warning message is displayed after pressing the Check For Updates shortcut on either the client or the server.

Just answer “OK” and the process will continue properly.

This warning is generated during Checking For Upgrades only on systems that have had repeated removals/reinstallations of our Client or Server software. It’s caused by removing registry entries associated with Webupdate, and is noncritical. It apparently only shows up on systems that people have been fiddling with manually, or that have other WebUpdate installers which have been removed by other applications.

Version 8.2.2109 fixes this MINOR WARNING. We edited all installers so the registry entries that cause this are never removed. This should correct this MINOR issue for all future fresh installations.

HOWEVER, if it doesn’t, add the following registry keys to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\WebUpdate\Settings

Note: These settings are for InstallShield’s WebUpdate product and not for Remote Backup, although they effect RBS. We cannot offer any suggestions for using any but the default settings below.
