Remote Backup Systems Releases new White Paper –

January 6th, 2009 Comments off

Remote Backup Systems, the founder of the Online Backup industry, today announced the availability of a new White Paper entitled, “The Real Cost of Do-It-Yourself Backups, and Why Online Backup is Better.”

The paper discloses the hidden costs to a small business of performing proper data backups in-house using portable hard drives, then compares this with the costs and benefits of using an Online Backup Service instead.

The example used is a “typical” small company without a dedicated IT person, backing up a single Windows 2003 Server using the generally recommended procedure of rotating multiple USB-attached portable hard drives offsite.

According to the author, the hidden costs of backups include employee salary and overhead, temporary loss of access to important data, overlooked downtime, mileage, and hardware costs, and can amount to more than $500 a month.

The White Paper is free of charge. It can be downloaded from the company’s website at http://remote-backup.com/whitepapers/

For more information, see the company’s website at http://remote-backup.com/
